Brazas Taco House

The Brazas Taco House, located on 6801 Airport Blvd, is a very tasteful Tex-Mex restaurant. Their location is an amazing location due to the colleges and schools in the area. It emphasizes the menu in the graphiti. It has all the routes inside the art work which displays the taco routes. The design, which is the restaurant’s name in graffiti, on the outside wall is a bang for customers attention. The restaurant being made out of brick helps the graphiti stand out. Even though it says tacos, there are more options to pick from, so do not worry if you dislike tacos. They have many food items such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and salads.

To begin with, I ordered the kid’s quesadilla and taco 183. The 183 taco contains beef barbacoa and potatoes topped with onion, cilantro, and mixed cheese. The barbacoa was tender and juicy with the right toppings because the onions and cilantro make the brisket flavor bloom. The kid’s quesadillas are normal-sized flour tortillas filled with cheddar cheese and a side of fries. Honestly, for a kid’s meal menu item, it sure does fill you up. The only issue I had with the restaurant is the cooking time. I’ve been a cook long enough to know how long it should take one order of a single taco to cook. It took about fifteen to twenty minutes just to receive my one taco. Now don’t get me wrong, the taco came out tasting great, but like I said before, it should have taken around 5 minutes.

The workers are very nice as well and love to carry conversations with you. I talked with the older gentleman at the register for about ten minutes about my culinary career.

Although, they have sauces ranging from least spicy to  spiciest. My favorite salsa they served was named “Capon.” It was one of the least spicy, but it still has a fast kick of heat. On the other hand, “Hulala” had the strongest spiciness with a blast of Hawaiian taste. You will definitely need a drink to take down the heat.

All in all, Brazos Taco House on 6801 Airport Blvd has really good food and service. You might have to wait a few minutes longer than usual, but to me it’s definitely worth the wait. I experienced a really nice restaurant experience.
